Feb. 7 First day teams can designate franchise or transition players
Feb. 10 AFC-NFC Pro Bowl - Honolulu (FOX)
Feb. 20-26 NFL Scouting Combine - RCA Dome - Indianapolis

(Coin flip held on Feb. 22 to determine draft order between Nos. 3, 4 and 5)
Feb. 21 Deadline for clubs to designate franchise and transition players (4:00 p.m. EST)
Feb. 28

Deadline for submission of qualifying offers by clubs to their restricted free agents whose contracts have expired and to whom they desire to retain a right of first refusal/compensation (i.e., RFAs).

Deadline for clubs to submit offer of minimum salary to their players with fewer than three seasons of free agency credit whose contracts have expired (i.e., ERFAs).

Veteran free agency signing period begins (9:01 p.m. PST, or, if you prefer, 12:01 a.m. EST on Feb. 29).

Trading period begins.

March 1

Clubs must be in compliance with the salary cap ($116.729 million for 2008) by 4:00 p.m. EST.

Deadline for clubs to exercise options for 2008 on all players who have option clauses in their 2007 contracts.

Expiration date of all player contracts due to expire after 2007 season.

March 17

Teams may start voluntary off-season workout programs.

Mar. 30-Apr. 3 NFL annual meeting - Palm Beach, FL
Apr. 13 Raiderettes preliminary auditions
Apr. 18 Signing period ends for restricted free agents (i.e., deadline to sign restricted free agents to offer sheets) (midnight EDT).
Apr. 20 Raiderettes final auditions
Apr. 26-27 NFL draft - Radio City Music Hall, New York
Saturday's session (beginning this year, consisting of only rounds 1 and 2) won't begin until noon Pacific time (yes, 3:00 p.m. in New York)!
May 9-11 Raiders' first mini-camp (only rookies and players without any accrued time)
May 19-21 NFL spring meeting - Buckhead (Atlanta), GA
June 3-5 Raiders' second (final) mini-camp (full squad; mandatory)
July 15 Deadline to sign franchise players to offer sheets (i.e., for long-term contracts) (4:00 p.m. EST) (or the first scheduled day of the first training camp, whichever is later).
July 25
Raiders training camp opens (tentative) (players report to Napa).
July 26
First practice of training camp (tentative)
Aug. 2 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions - Canton, OH
Aug. 3 Hall of Fame Game - Canton, OH
(Indianapolis vs. Washington)
Sept. 4-7 Regular season begins (Raiders open on Monday night, Sept. 8)
