Note to readers (3/3/04): Three Raiders—RB Charlie Garner, OLB Eric Barton, and DT Roderick Coleman—had contracts allowing the players to void them and become unrestricted free agents. In Garner's case he had to pay the team $400,000. Barton had to pay a smaller, unspecified sum. Coleman needed to reach certain performance incentives to trigger his "escape" clause.

Garner and Barton did buy out their remaining years, and Coleman reached his incentives in 2003. All three players elected to void their contracts, then signed with new teams.
